	Advocacy - Together…We Make a Difference! Undertaking state and federal advocacy efforts remains one of the most important roles of the Louisiana Hospital Association in meeting the needs of its membership. With the combined effort of LHA lobbyists and LHA members, the hospital industry has been successful in Washington, DC and in Baton Rouge representing and protecting the interests of hospitals and the communities they serve. State The LHA staff supports and promotes state legislation vital to the mission and economic viability of LHA members and opposes those bills that suggest needless government intrusion or burdensome regulations. The LHA monitors and analyzes thousands of bills during each state legislative session. Federal In concert with the American Hospital Association, the LHA works closely with Louisiana's congressional delegation to advocate positions on Medicare, Medicaid, UCC funding and other federal issues that are favorable to our members. Frequent and substantive contacts with Louisiana's two U.S. Senators and seven Representatives have greatly enhanced the delegation's support of Louisiana's hospitals.
