Job Description |
The LHA Research and Education Foundation is actively recruiting two individuals to work with hospitals during the two year Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) improvement project, which is part of the national CMS-driven Partnership for Patients initiative. The Partnership for Patients is a national project with the goal to reduce avoidable harm by 40 percent in nine distinct areas and reduce preventable readmissions by 20 percent by December 2013.?The LHA has partnered with the Health and Research Education Trust (HRET) to drive these improvements in 93 participating facilities across Louisiana. The LHA HEN is charged with engaging hospitals in meaningful training, education and improvement. The successful candidates will need experience in quality improvement activities in a hospital environment, have a clinical degree, and be willing to travel statewide, working with our 93 hospital network in individual consultation, education and change management. Chief Operating Officer - Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center
Responsible for the management and oversight of Radiation and Clinical Oncology, Physics, Clinical Research, Electronic Health Records and Information Technology for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Integrated Oncology Services. This position serves as second-in-command to the Chief Executive Officer in supporting the growth and development of all facets of the organization.
Leads and directs the management of Radiation and Clinical Oncology, Physics, Clinical Research, Electronic Health Records and Information Technology, ensuring patient focused service, operational efficiencies and strategic direction mirror the mission and core values of the organization.
· Reviews and evaluates all business operations and assures uniform and coordinated business systems are in place.
· Works collaboratively with physicians and senior management and directs staff to formulate policies, procedures and decisions affecting broad operations.
· Provides leadership and direction in major improvement projects and capital efforts.
· Spearheads the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
· Partners with the management team to development and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the organization.
· Assures efficient management and stewardship of Center resources.
· Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with JCAHO, HIPPA and other accreditation standards.
· Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and the organization and staff are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
EXPERIENCE: 10 -15 years of clinical and business management. Experience in financial and administrative operations in a healthcare setting are required. Must also have proven experience in information technology planning, organization, and development. Masters degree in business or hospital administration preferred.
